The Greatest Day in History How on the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month, the First World War Came to an End. by Nicholas Best

I just got finished with The Greatest Day in History by Nicholas best. It was a real enjoyable book. It was about the end of WW1 and where individuals were and what they were experiencing. This book did not only focus on the main general’s and dignitaries, it also mentioned regular soldiers and nurses. I would recommend this book to any one that wants to learn about the armistice, the days leading up to its signing and the immediate aftermath. I believe it would be suitable for late middle school and beyond. A fact I learn from this book was that toward the end of the war Germany was experiencing a Bolshevist (communist) revolution similar to the revolution that deposed the Russian government and put the Communist government in its place. You can buy this book on amazon in paperback for $12.44 or hardcover for $27.95. Barnes and Noble has it in hardcover for $3.99 or paperback for $13.64. The reason the hardcover one is so cheap is because it is on clearance.

Gun Control: Opposing Viewpoints

I just finished reading the Gun Control edition of the Opposing Viewpoints series. It was a good book. I like how this series doesn’t tell you what it right or wrong. It shows you what different people believe and leaves it up to you to decide what to believe. This would be a good starting point if you were doing a school project, or if you just wanted to learn more. There is a list of organizations that are involved with the debate in the back. They have the contact info with it so you can contact the organization if you wish. This book i would say has a reading level of late middle school and beyond. It is $25.88 new paperback on amazon. I recommend you buy the used version. Barnes and Noble has it for $36.09 new paperback. It has it new from $1.99-$2.00. I hope you like this review of this book. Please comment if you have any suggestions about what you thought of this review or this blog in general. If you have a book you would like to review feel free to comment.
